Long and Short Cafe in Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul

Please click the link here for the introduction to the cafe written in Korean.

Located in Hongje-dong, not far from Yeonhui-dong, Cafe Long and Short is located
between residential areas near Hongjecheon Stream.

I thought it was a one-story detached building based on the exterior photo, but when I came here,
it was an ordinary building that can be easily seen in the neighborhood where there is an academy on the second floor.

It's in Hongje-dong, but it's far from Hongje Station, and it's a cafe near Hongje Stream and is about 10 minutes away from the Swiss Grand Hotel, which has been hot since last year with retro vintage sensibility.

It was probably originally a red brick, but the exterior was neatly painted with white brick, and the window frame and door frame were unified into black, so it was a look that came out at a glance from a distance.

Since cafes sell coffee and desserts, let's move on.

I was a little confused because it said furniture, but it turns out that the workshop next to the cafe is making furniture.

There was also an outside seat next to the door where you can wait, and the interior space that you can see slightly was expected to feel the warmth.

There is no separate parking lot, so I recommend you to use Seodaemun-gu Office's second parking lot,
which is a 3-minute walk from the cafe, and the parking fee was 3,000 won per hour.

The front space from the entrance was the bathroom, and if you turn slightly to the right,
you will find the counter and cafe space.

The wood floor where you can see the wood grain and wood furniture met and it was full of warm atmosphere.

The window seat looked a little uncomfortable because it was a chair without a backrest, but some people liked the window seat because of the advantage of having a comfortable view of the neighborhood.

Except for window seats, two tables for four people were separated by temporary partitions in the middle, but shortly after I came back, there were some changes in the seats.

The space itself is not large, but it might be frustrating if there are many seats, but now I think there are more seats because there are more tables for two people inside.

After I came back, I found out that the owner of Carpenters Coffee in Sangam-dong moved to Hongje-dong and reopened it under the new name Long and Short.

It was a pity that I couldn't go to Carpenter's Coffee because I thought I should visit it, but I was glad to hear that it was a space opened by the same owner.

There's a big Wi-Fi password written on one wall.
Coffee, non-coffee menus, and desserts are organized in an easy-to-understand manner, so it's easy to see.

The coffee beans line-up seems to be changing little by little, and decaffeinated beans were prepared, so there were many kinds of coffee beans to choose from.

I ordered a cafe latte with savory coffee beans and a cream mousse that you must try here.

For your information, there was a 1,000 won discount if you use a tumbler, and an additional 1,000 won if you change it to oat milk.

The scones at the showcase looked so good, but my friend recommended me to try cream mousse when I came here, so I put off the scones and ordered cream mousse first.

In case of cream mousse, I had to choose between a seasonal bean pot and nuts, but the owner recommended that raspberry bean pot would be better for those who like refreshing things, so I chose raspberry bean pot.

In the case of the coffee machine, I was using a La Marzoko black color, and it went well with the space and the aroma of savory coffee beans filled my entire stay at the cafe, so I felt good.

It's too bad to just take a picture, so I'll take a video.

The space itself has a calm atmosphere, but instead of the sound of words, the attached music seems too lively, but just upload it.

I thought it would take some time for the food to come out because it's a space run by the owner, but the menu I ordered came out sooner than I thought.

It was comfortable to bring it to my seat, and the hand-knitted t-coaster was so cute.

The glass with the cafe's name on it is clean and pretty, and the grip is comfortable, so if you sell it, I want to buy one.

I expected the coffee to be delicious because it smelled so good, but it's a strong and savory latte that I like, so if I wasn't sensitive to caffeine, I wanted to drink another cup.

At first glance, I thought it was just a round shape with regular Greek yogurt, but it was a new dessert made with cheese, cream, and yogurt.

Since it's a dessert that you make yourself, the texture of the cloth was revealed on the cream mousse,
so I was able to trust and eat it.

It's thick like Greek yogurt, but it's more savory than cheese, and it's sweet enough.

In particular, the sourness itself, the raspberry bean pot, was a great choice, and I wanted to choose the raspberry bean pot over the nuts next time, so it went really well with cream mousse.

If you're going to Long and Short, I recommend you to try cream mousse.

Whenever I go on a cafe tour, I feel that a large cafe with a lot of seats is good, but a cafe that I want to be in my neighborhood is small like Long and Short, but I think it's a fruitful cafe.

I love the comfortable and cozy atmosphere, so there aren't many cafes that I remember even after I came back.

I didn't know when I went in, but when I went home, I saw a shelter for street cats on the side of the cafe.

And taking care of clean water and cat food, so I wanted the Long and Short to be a better one.

Inspired by Haruki Murakami's novel, "The Story I Want to Tell When I Talk About Running," the space named Long and Short is said to mean that we want to be a place where we can run or rest.

Hongjecheon Cafe Long and Short, which impressed the comfort of wood tone in a small space with warm sunlight.

I recommend you to stop by.
